      Pat painting of Bengal reveals the long tradition of painting of Bengal. This art form was very much popularised by the potuas of Kalighat. Among the modern painters, Rabindranath created a style of his own. His nephew, Abanindranath Tagore ,the most noted painter of modern India, revived the heritage of Indian art through his paintings .Jamini Roy, one of the noted pupils of Abanindranath besides Nandalal Bose, developed an independent art form on the basis of Bengali folk art .
